2018 Parish Council Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the Edenham Parish Council Meeting Held in Edenham Village Hall on 10th July 2018 at 7:30 pm

Present: Councillors Mrs Whadcock, Mr Biggs(Chairman), Mr Martin, Mrs Edwards, Mr Wilson, Mr Clayton(secretary)

Apologies Councillors Mrs Cranfield, Mrs Schwarz, , Mr Hill (Lincolnshire County Council), Mr Robins (South Kesteven District Council), 

1.0 Open Forum.

The chairman welcomed 2 members of the public, however no issues were raised hence the Open Forum was closed and the Parish Council Meeting was opened.

3.0 Minutes of last meeting:

Cllr Whadcock proposed, seconded Cllr Martin, that the minutes be signed as a true record. Agreed.

4.0 Requests for Dispensations:

None requested

5.0 Declarations of Interest:

None requested

6.0 Update from Previous Meeting

i. Street Cleaning - Ongoing.

ii. SID - the equipment has been downloaded and is to be re-sited in Grimsthorpe. Data again emphasised the high volumes of traffic with a relatively high percentage exceeding the 30mph limit.

7.0 Planning Application:

i. Application S18/0966 - Vehicular Access - 1 Ivy Cottage, Main Road, Grimsthorpe. No Objections/comments.

ii. Applications S18/1001 & S18/1051(Listed Consent) - Demolition of lean to + internal alterations - Edenham Vicarage. No Objections/comments

8.0 . Children's Play Area:

Cllr Martin/Secretary reported; Play surface renovation completed, due to very dry weather contractor recommends site stays closed until grass seed has fully germinated and become established. Project completion report/ receipts etc sent to SKDC's Community Fund to enable final 25% of Grant to be made. During work toddler swing seats found to be badly corroded - quote from contractor to replace these and the stolen equipment chains, £1148.00p (Ex VAT). It was proposed by Cllr Martin, seconded Cllr Biggs that once grant funds are received from SKDC this work should be carried out. Agreed.

9.0 Financial Matters:

Cheques signed prior to meeting;

i.  Greatford Garden Services - Play Surface Contract - £9430.80p

ii  HMRC - PAYE,  1st Qtr 2018/19 - £74-20p.

ii. Mr LA Clayton - wage, 1st Qtr 2018/19 - £297-52p. 

10.0 Correspondence:

Various correspondences were studied.  Secretary to reply as required

11.0 Other Business

Cllr Biggs reported; Grimsthorpe Castle are hosting an event by InvestSK, which is a company wholly owned by South Kesteven District Council, to help promote local events and encourage higher visitor numbers throughout the district.

12.0 Next Meeting

The next meeting of Edenham Parish Council will take place on Tuesday, 11th September 2018 in Edenham Village Hall commencing at 7:30pm

With there being no further business the Chairman closed the meeting at 8:40pm.
