2023 Parish Council Meeting Minutes

Parish Council of Edenham, Grimsthorpe, Elsthorpe & Scottlethorpe.

Minutes for the Parish Council Meeting: 12th September 2023 at 19:30 hours

Attendees: Parish Councillors Mr T Clarke (Chairman) Mrs P Cranfield (Vice Chairman), Mr A Wilson, Mrs M Marshall, Mrs A Treacy, Mr D Hawes, Mrs M Avis & Mrs C Sands (Parish Clerk).

 1. Public Open Forum : As there were no members of the public present at the meeting, the Chairman closed the open forum.

2. District Council & County Council update: There were no Councillors in attendance.

Commencement of the Parish Council Meeting.

3. Apologies: Not applicable

4. Approval of Minutes: Minutes from meeting 11th July 2023 were accepted as a true record, proposed by Councillor Mrs P Cranfield, seconded by Councillor Mr A Wilson.

5. Request for dispensation: If requested.

6. Declaration of interest: If requested.

7. Parish Clerk and Councillors update from previous meeting.

7.1 Monthly Coffee & Cake: On Tuesday 3rd October, from 10:15 to 11:30 there will be a coffee morning at Bourne to Care (Old Post Office, Main St, Edenham). The coffee morning's will take place on the first Tuesday of every month until further notice.

7.2 Five Bells Public House Garden: The garden areas have been tidied which has made a huge difference to the site.  

7.3 Carol singing date confirmation: The event will take place on Tuesday 19th December 2023, starting at 18:30 hours. Light refreshments will be served.

8. New Meeting Matters.

8.1 Footpath Improvement Works: The recent works (19th August 23) caused considerable disruption to local residents, businesses and commuters. Signage for road closure and diversions were limited which resulted in drivers making dangerous manoeuvres on some roads. Parish Clerk to highlight the issues to Lincolnshire County Council Highways.

8.2 Play Area Information: The recent ROSPA  inspection (10th August 2023) highlighted  a number of medium risk areas.  It was agreed that the Parish Clerk get quotes for the work. Further discussion to take place at the next Parish Council meeting (November) with regard to the costs and ongoing maintenance of the play equipment.

Play Area Annual Inspection: £90.00 inc VAT

Salaries & HMRC Payments: £422.66

11. Correspondence:

The Parish Clerk made the Parish Councillors aware of a number of items, including a new Temporary traffic notification (see below).
